Use with 3MMC 5000 Series Respirators or 3MMC 6000 Series Cartridges with the 3MMC 502 Adapter, or with 3MMC 6000, 7000, and FF-400 Series Half-Face and Full-Face Respirators equipped with bayonet filter retainers. When properly fitted, this assembly is suitable for a variety of applications, including welding, brazing, torch cutting, metal casting, soldering, and exposure to lead, asbestos, cadmium, arsenic, and 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane (MDA) at concentrations up to 10 times the permissible exposure limit with half-faces or up to 50 times the permissible exposure limit with full-faces. Full-face masks must undergo quantitative fit testing to achieve a characteristic protection factor greater than 10 in negative pressure mode. It also provides protection against harmful concentrations of organic vapors that are below the permissible exposure limit (PEL). Harmful concentrations are defined as concentrations below the OSHA PEL or other government-established workplace exposure limit, whichever is less. This filter is both flame-resistant and water-repellent. It is not NIOSH-approved for ozone protection. Do not use for respiratory protection in the presence of organic vapors or if the atmosphere presents an immediate danger to life or health (IDLH).

Its compatibility with bayonet-type retainers allows it to be used with several 3MMC half-mask and full-mask respirator models.
