Pareo - Finishing Oil for Exterior Wood Decking and Cladding

1. Mix well with a stick before and during
the application.
2. Apply the first coat generously up to
saturating the wood using a stain brush or a
DYEING PAD.
3. After 5 to 10 minutes, if necessary, wipe the surface
with clean POLYCOTTON CLOTHES for
remove any excess oil.
4. Clean the tools and accessories used with the
TOOL CLEANER AND THINNER and soak the
rags saturated with oil in water before throwing them in the
garbage can.
5. Allow to dry for 12 to 24 hours.
6. If more than 24 hours have passed since the first
application, lightly sand with abrasive paper
120 grit before the second application.
7. Apply a second thin coat, repeating all the previous steps.

The moisture content of the wood must be less than 15%.
Do not apply directly in the sun or at temperatures below 10°C, or in very humid conditions.
For unstained wood or for maintenance, clean the wood with PAREO PREP. To strip stained or oiled wood, clean the wood with PAREO RESET.
The wood must be clean, completely dry and sanded with 60 or 80 grit sandpaper; change the sandpaper regularly to ensure good impregnation of the product.
Dust off using a vacuum cleaner.
Test the product on a hidden surface and allow 24 hours of drying time between coats to validate the result, as it may vary depending on the type of wood used.

The greatest advantage of oil in wood treatment lies in its ease of maintenance and repair. The secret to well-maintained oiled wood lies in prevention. The longer the treatment time, the longer it will last. As soon as PAREO CLEAN and PAREO MAINTENANCE products are no longer sufficient to keep your oiled wood in good condition, it's a sign that it's time to consider applying a new coat of oil.

Good overall condition (wood a little dull):
1. Clean the wood with PAREO CLEAN;
2. Apply a layer of PAREO according to the instructions
of the product;
3. No sandblasting or stripping required.

Good overall condition (localized stains or small areas)
damaged):
1. Sand the damaged area with sandpaper.
60 or 80 grit;
2. Reapply two coats of PAREO finishing oil on
the area previously sandblasted according to the instructions of the
product.

Average overall condition (slight discoloration, several stains, reduced water resistance):
1. Clean the wood with PAREO PREP;
2. Apply one to two coats of PAREO according to the
product instructions;
3. No sandblasting or stripping required.

Poor overall condition (significant discoloration, greying surface, no water resistance, many stains or damaged areas):
1. Clean the wood with PAREO RESET;
2. Sand the wood with 60 or 80 grit sandpaper;
3. Apply two coats of PAREO according to the
product instructions.

-It is possible to mix the colors together to create unique colors.

For application on sawn timber, it is possible to reduce the color intensity by adding Pareo 00 – Colorless in a maximum ratio of 1:1. This step is not recommended for planed and sanded timber, as diluting the color pigments would reduce UV resistance.

Applying colours 00 – Colourless and 22 – Natural on surfaces exposed to the sun requires more frequent maintenance.

Colour 00 – Colourless provides an amber finish and brings out the wood grain.

Color 22 – Natural is slightly bleached. It helps to better preserve the whiteness of light-colored woods (pine, maple, cherry, spruce, beech, aspen, etc.). It is strongly recommended to test beforehand on open-grained woods and on colored woods (oak, walnut, mahogany, elm, etc.).
