Application tips

Proper surface preparation is crucial. The concrete must be clean, dry, and free of grease and contaminants.

CLEANING: Wash the surface using a concrete preparation product. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry for at least 48 hours.

SANDBLASTING: Resurfacing with a polisher is by far the best surface preparation, but it can be replaced by sandblasting in most residential projects. Sand the surface using a sander fitted with 60-grit sandpaper to remove the old layers of paint.

DUST REMOVAL: Thoroughly remove dust from the surface using a shop vacuum. Free the surface of all contaminants and fine concrete dust.

SEALING: Widen the cracks with an angle grinder to remove loose particles, then clean them with a shop vacuum. Use a concrete crack filler. The 100% solids epoxy can be applied 4 to 6 hours later.

Mixing

Stir each component separately. Pour all of the hardener (component B) into the epoxy resin (component A). Mix thoroughly for 4 minutes at low speed (300 to 450 rpm) using a drill fitted with a mixing paddle. Avoid mixing at high speeds to prevent the formation of bubbles. Regularly scrape the sides and bottom of the container with a stick to ensure a homogeneous mixture. Let the mixture rest for 2 minutes. Apply completely within the next 30 minutes.

Pour the product directly onto the floor in several thin strips. Using a brush, quickly cut in the strips. Then, use a squeegee to spread the product, and then go over it again with a roller (from left to right, then from front to back). It is important to ensure even coverage across the entire surface and avoid creating puddles.

Recommendations

Do not reapply the product after more than 10 minutes.
Wear cleated soles to walk on the covered surface.
Apply a coat of clear epoxy over dark or metallic colors.
Apply a second coat within 24 to 48 hours for a high-gloss, even finish. If the second coat is to be applied more than 48 hours after application, sand the surface with a sander equipped with 60-grit sandpaper to remove the gloss and prevent adhesion problems.
For a vertical or sloping surface, apply the product IN THIN LAYERS, otherwise it will tend to run.

IMPORTANT!

The product begins to harden rapidly after 40 minutes and is completely unusable after 50 minutes.
Immediately after use, clean all equipment with xylene. Always keep your safety glasses and gloves on to avoid any contact with the product.
Once the product has hardened, a mechanical means must be used to remove it.
Important information
Check that the substrate temperature is between 10 and 30 °C, and that it is 3 °C above the day's dew point.
Ensure the substrate moisture content is below 4%. Do not apply to damp substrates or porous surfaces prone to absorbing soil moisture.
Maintain a maximum relative humidity of 85% during application and curing.
Protect from moisture, condensation and water during the 48-hour curing period.
Do not apply outdoors.
The surface may discolor in areas regularly exposed to ultraviolet light.
The concrete floor must have been poured for at least 90 days before being covered.
Always wear safety glasses, nitrile gloves, and long clothing to avoid contact with the epoxy. In case of skin contact, wash immediately with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
